C’est la période de l’année où des articles frivoles ou tirés par les cheveux tiennent les manchettes. Les serpents de mer, les soucoupes volantes et les ovnis arrivent en force. Les légendes urbaines se multiplient en proportion directe avec le nombre de journées ensoleillées.
Selon le journal anglais The Telegraph, des rats pullulent dans les jardins du Musée du Louvre à Paris. Le plus étonnant c’est que les allées et venues de cette population de rongeurs laissent indifférents les nombreux touristes qui pique-niquent sur les pelouses. Ils continuent à manger sans broncher et les enfants donnent la chasse aux rats comme à des pigeons.
En fait cette ‘invasion’ de rats est probablement dû à des rénovations des Halles actuellement en cours et à l’eau accumulée dans les égouts après tant d’orages récents. Il y aurait 6 millions de rats dans le centre de Paris, trois pour chaque habitant, sans parler de la banlieue. Mais le nombre de ces habitants rongeurs est plus ou moins stable.
Certains suggèrent que Rémy, star de l’animation de Disney Ratatouille, s’est animé. On se demande ce que lui, qui avait une telle passion de la cuisine, penserait des sandwichs et de la malbouffe des touristes ?

According to the English newspaper ‘The Telegraph’, rats are proliferating in the gardens of the Louvre museum in Paris. The most astonishing thing is that the comings and goings of this rodent population is having no effect on the tourists picnicking on the grass. They continue eating without batting an eyelid and children are chasing the rats as if they were pigeons.
This ‘plague’ of rats is probably due to renovations currently being carried out at les Halles and to the accumulation of water in the sewers after so many recent storms.. There are reputed to be 6 million rats in the centre of Paris, three for every resident, to say nothing of the suburbs. But the number of these rodent inhabitants is more or less stable.
Some people are suggesting that Rémy, the star of the Disney cartoon ‘Ratatouille’, has come to life. You wonder what he, who was so keen on cooking, would think of the tourists’ sandwiches and junk food.
